Friday night was the first night of five on my Milky Way Chase this week. I drove up to Mono Lake to meet the 1st of a group of friends from the Milky Way Chasers Group on FB for the week… @mattcookii and I headed over to the South Tufa Area to try and catch the sunset and set up for the Milky Way that evening. We missed most of the sunset but had plenty of time to scope out our compositions which were rather uncomfortable to sit at but made for a great image. I was thrilled this ONE image had THREE shooting stars!

I started shooting at blue hour when I couldn’t see the Milky Way with the naked eye, but the images came out really cool in color! In hindsight, I would rather have shot longer exposures and lower ISO’s on these but wasn’t expecting to get the Milky Way at that time! (Photo Pills is right but not right in this situation!) I still haven’t gotten a chance to really try out the stacking thing so for now I am editing individual images still.. .
