Party at the Arizona Hotsprings on Saturday!
Party at the Arizona Hotsprings on Saturday! I headed down mid-Saturday with Travis, his brother Sean, Cristina and Kris and hit up the White Rock Canyon Trailhead on the other side of the Hoover Dam. The total hike is about 6.5 miles and there are a number of ways to get there but we quickly covered the picturesque distance and it wasn’t long until we were dipping our feet into VERY hot springs. We weren’t the only ones with the idea to head down in mid December; there were about 15 other people than our group of 5. 3 pools were created using sand bags to block off the sections and I kept thinking of the 3 little bears and how one pool was too hot, one was too cold, and the middle one was JUST right. We hung out and explored below the hot springs before Kris had to get back. So the others drank wine and beer and hung out to sing Kumbaya while we made the trek out in the dark. I got caught slipping as we were getting ready to head out; those are pics Travis stole my camera and took of me with my pants down! Photo credit to Travis on all the last pics!
One of my fave pics of the day…
I’d advise anyone choosing to head down to have good navigation or trail finding skills if you decide to head out in the dark.. To get to the parking lot for the trail, head east on 93 past the dam to the White Rock Canyon parking area on the left side. This parking area is closed in the dead of summer because of the hike being way too dangerous in the heat. Make sure to have plenty of water with you and if you’re going to be there late, bring headlamps or flashlights! Good luck, have fun!!
