Hike to Kanarraville Falls and Slot Canyon
A couple fridays ago, I headed out to Kanarraville Falls with my girl Myra in search of a new slot canyon hike. We were not disappointed with what we found!!! A short, 4 mile round trip adventure through easy, yet rugged terrain to an incredible destination!
We drove a mere 2.5 hours up the 15 and got off at the exit to Kanarraville. We parked in a parking lot designated for the falls and began our hike which was a short but steep uphill climb to get to the creek. I wore some old tennis shoes that I always use on these water hikes- I used to use water shoes but they suck to hike on normal ground in. The trail followed along the creek where we attempted to keep our feet dry as long as possible. Eventually we hit the slot canyon about a mile in and at that point there were no dry feet in site! We explored the slot canyon and came across 4 different sets of waterfalls. Each had a way to climb up them that some very nice person went out of their way to build- rungs up a log, ropes, and more. The hike was easy enough that we saw a number of families on it but they probably didn’t make it past the 2nd set of falls.
All in all, our hike took less than 4 hours. Don’t forget $10 cash for the parking area if you decide to go!!! The juice is definitely worth the squeeze on this hike!
