I went to the press conference out here in Manchester yesterday and one of the photographers that I see when I come overseas approached me to say hello. He placed into my hand a small purple box, explaining that his wife had made me a gift. Not quite knowing what to expect, I opened the present and was surprised by the pendant that lay inside.
It was extremely unique, made from an antique spoon that she had discovered inside a box at the world famous Barras Market in Glasgow. She placed within it’s bowl a tiny cameo from a pair of earrings that she had found in a small Scottish antique store.
Besides being one of the coolest things I have seen, it has such an interesting story behind it. Here is a photo of one from her website. I feel that one that she handcrafted for me is much better; it has a pink glitter playing across it’s surface.
